About the Event
Ascend Advocacy Agency, in partnership with Oakland University’s Pontiac Initiative Early Childhood Education (OUPIECE), invites youth in grades 3–12 to participate in a powerful and engaging Youth Empowerment & College Readiness Experience.
This immersive event is designed to inspire young minds while equipping them with practical tools for their future. Participants will explore Oakland University’s campus through a guided college tour, helping them begin to see themselves in a higher education environment. They will also attend a mini financial aid education session that breaks down the basics of paying for college in a way that is easy to understand and empowering.
In addition, youth will participate in a trauma-informed peer training focused on emotional awareness, healthy coping skills, and building positive peer connections. This experience supports both personal growth and social development in a safe, supportive environment.
